copy of a group on same page

hi everyone, i was just wondering if there is a solution to a couple of problems i am having. I am designing a report for checks and have a group header with the details at the top of the page and want to duplicate the exact group with details in the middle of the page, is this possible? everytime i add another group, it embeds it in the first group.

also, i want to add an underlay with "VOID" on the checks at the page footer after the fist page. any ideas?

JosoCan you show us the expected report format?sqlsql

Copy local sql 05 DB to production machine

Hi SQL folks,

I've googled for this the whole yesterday and I couldn't find a complete solution.

I'm having a sql2005 database in my development machine and I need to copy all the content "Tables, Diagrams, PK columns and other data" to the remote production machine.

Using the Import/Export method didn't copied the relationships between tables, also it turned the PKs into just a standard columns

Can anyone help?

The only missing thing now is the relationships, How can I copy it?

I've copied the DB diagram but the relationships simply disapeared!

I am transfering a database from sql server 2000 to sql server 2005 using copy database wizard.

I have this error coming up error

Error: ERROR : errorCode=-1073548784 description=Executing the query "EXEC dbo.sp_grantdbaccess @.loginame = N'Test\username', @.name_in_db = N'username' " failed with the following error: "The login already has an account under a different user name.". How do i handle this error...looked online but didn't find right answers...

Please let me know

Hi sureshv,

It seems that it migrates database users. This is not the same as logins.
Logins have access on server level, users on database level.

Perhaps - it may works by using sp_changedbowner 'sa'

WHEN I AM USING A COPY DATABASE WIZARD HOW AND WHERE DO I NEED TO USE sp_changedbowner 'sa'

AND OTHER QUESTION IS DOES THIS COPY WIZARD EVER WORK PROPERLY...

so i though to use a backup and restore method in order to tansfer 2000 database to 2005 server.....Which worked out well but i have this error coming up when i tried to run my backup for the databse transfered in 2005....

"Executed as user: Companyname\dba. sqlmaint.exe failed. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 22029). The step failed."

How to overcome this situation..

Converting Timestamp to varchar or concatenating it with a string

Hello,

I apologise if this question has been asked before but I have searched forums and the web and have not found a solution. I am current creating a script that has a cursor that builds a sql statement to be executed e.g.

--code within cursor

SELECT'

DECLARE @.Result INT

EXEC @.Result = DELETE_DOCUMENT

@.DocumentID = ' + STR(DocumentID) + ',

@.TimeStamp =' + CAST([Timestamp] as varchar) + ',

-- CHECK RESULT AND STATUS

-- IF OK LOG IN META_BATCH ELSE LOG ERROR' AS SQL

FROMDocument

The problem I am having is trying to join the timestamp column into the sql string. I have tried to cast the time stamp to a varchar but I end up with the following output for the timestamp column values

T

T?

T-

xnT

T!

T"

T#

T$

T%

T&

T'

T(

T)

T*

T+

T,

which would not allow my delete script to work correctly. So I would really appreciate some advice to a pointer to where I might find out how to convert the timestamp.

Thanks

Sam

insert into dbo.t1 default values

converting RS2000 reports to 2005

I am trying to convert reports from reporting services 2000 to 2005. I did not open the solution that contained the reports because I wanted to start fresh with a new structure. I added the projects and brought the existing reports in. My question is, I am findingt the only way to convert the reports is to open them in design view and specify that I want to convert them at the prompt. After a little digging, it appeared the only different was the report declaration at the top:

2005:
<Report xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2005/01/reportdefini..."xmlns:rd="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQLServer/reporting/reportdesigner">

2003:
<Report
xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2003/10/reportdefini..."xmlns:rd="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQLServer/reporting/reportdesigner">

Since it is about ten times faster to open the report in xml (code) view, I thought maybe I could just do a search and replace on the two lines above, or at least copy over them, and then save all. I have over 100 reports and it would be pretty time consuming to do a conversion on each. Anyway, my question is is this the only thing I need to do to convert a report or will I screw up my reports doing it this way. I did one and it seemed to work.

Any advice is appreciated.

The RS 2005 Report Server can run RS 2000 RDLs. You can just publish them to the Report Server - they will be auto-upgraded during publishing. Note: when you retrieve it from the report server, you’ll get the original RS 2000 RDL you published to the server.

From that point of view it is not mandatory to upgrade old RDLs to the new schema definition.

BTW: there are a few more changes in the new schema than just the namespace change.

Any advice is appreciated.I don't know. I think you are playing with fire. What if one of your reports
has something different that requires more. I would think you could do a 100
reports in about an hour. A boring hour but it is the safest way.
